The Dark Match is Southbound Part 1 – NXT TakeOver: Orlando Predictions

Saturday, April 1, 2017, Amway Center in Orlando, Florida plays host to NXT TakeOver: Orlando.  There are a number of matches on this card that could be match of the weekend….I mean, you didn’t think it was going to be Goldberg-Lesnar did you?

Sanity vs Dillinger, Strong, No Way Jose & Ruby Riot

Matt:  Thank you, William Regal.  I was really upset thinking I wouldn’t get to see a Tye Dillinger match this weekend.  The good guys for the win.  Down with Sanity.

Jeremy:  I love that this is a mixed tag match with the addition of Ruby Riot.  Dillinger perpetually loses so it would be great to see his faction pick up the win here.

Aleister Black vs Andrade Cien Almas

Matt:  They’re being so secretive about what this Black guy (chuckle) looks like that there isn’t even a preview for the match on wwe.com.  I don’t know, this one is either or.  I really can’t figure out what they’re doing with Almas.  Is he going to be their new Dillinger when Tye goes on to be the World Heavyweight Champion as a member of the Smackdown Live roster?  Aleister Black is my prediction only because he sounds like a character from Harry Potter.  I guarantee he isn’t a wizard.

Jeremy:  Aleister Black, aka Tommy End, picks up the win here  He’s a monster on the Indy scene and he’s going to tear it up here.

The Revival vs #DIY vs Authors of Pain for the NXT Tag Team Championship in a Triple Threat Elimination Match

Matt:  This match as just a triple threat was going to be amazing.  This match with the added caveat of elimination just sounds amazing.  I’m giving the belts back to #DIY here because I kind of think its time for The Revival to join one of the main rosters.  This could be match of the weekend.

Jeremy:  I’m wearing a DIY shirt right now but this is going to pain me to write this.  The straps are staying on The Authors of Pain until Summerslam.  I think there’s a chance both The Revival and #DIY are being called up.

Asuka vs Ember Moon for the NXT Women’s Championship

Matt:  Did I mention that the Tag match could be match of the weekend, because this one is right there with it.  I’ve been waiting for this match for entirely too long.  I hope they’ve worked it out to where Asuka has to win to tie the undefeated streak of Goldberg.  Hell, by now they’ve probably already let her break that one.  Ember Moon is amazing though.  Ember Moon Eclipses Asuka’s head off.

Jeremy:  I have no idea how this is going to go, but it’s going to be the match of the weekend.  Just to be contrarian here, Asuka continues her streak.  Peyton Royce shows up to stop the Eclipse and Asuka capitalizes.

Bobby Roode vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship

Matt:  Oh, The Gloriousness.  I don’t even know which entrance I’m more exited for.  Bobby Roode has essentially found a way to channel Ric Flair without pissing anybody off.  This one could go either way, but I don’t think we see a 3-time NXT Champion just yet.  Bobby Roode retains.

Jeremy:  I love Nak, but Roode is retaining.  I’m most looking forward to the entrance for both these guys.  It’s going to be a great show.
