31 Faces of Fear: Sting

For the month of October, we are going to run through some of our favorite wrestlers that inspire fear in their competitors and fans alike.

I don’t know about you, but I need a babyface face of fear after yesterday.  No one embodies that more than Sting, especially the Sting that fought against the nWo.  The true star of WCW, the fans turned their backs on Sting when Hulk Hogan showed up.  He initially struggled to find a new footing but, when Hogan was revealed to be the third man, became the Protagonist the nWo needed.  That is, until he eventually joined them.  But enough about that, here’s a particularly good entrance from Starrcade 1997 in his battle with the aforementioned “Hollywood” Hogan.

In November 2014, he showed up in the place no one ever thought he would go…the WWE.  He protected Dolph Ziggler from the Authority.  He battled Triple H at Wrestlemania.  Many assumed he would eventually battle the icon of WWE, The Undertaker.  Sadly, a buckle bomb from Seth Rollins aggravated decades of abuse to his body.  He had to hang up his cloak.  Thank you Sting for protecting us.
